We took the kids trick or treating downtown a couple of days before, Mady had her party at school, and then Halloween, so the costumes got some good use, and the kids had fun. We ended up with a good size group trick or treating around the neighborhood, and the kids had a blast. I thought Owen would end up in the stroller most of the night walking around with us, but after the first house where he figured out that all he had to say was "trick or treat" and he would get some candy, he was hooked. He hung with the big kids, and insisted on going up to every house just like them. He ended up with just as much candy as Mady! He was not happy when we were done.

Halloween, Aladdin Style
Mady is going through an Aladdin stage right now, and loves everything about that movie, especially Jasmine. So when it came time for Halloween, there was only one option. This might have been the last year that I could choose Owen's costume for him, judging by how independent this guy has been lately, so we kept with the theme, and dressed him up as Rajah the tiger.

Aggie Game Day
This year, we took Mady to her first Aggie football game. We love Aggie football, and there is nothing better than College Station on a game day. It's only right that we start the brainwashing process now with our kids, so they will feel the same ;)
She had a great time. The most important thing to her was to find Reveille, which we did. But, I think her favorite part was the popcorn during the game. It's the little things. We had so much fun taking her, and sharing that part of our lives with her. Cannot wait for more games, and including Owen in that too.

Comal County Fair!
This blog was getting a bit dusty. It's been a while since I've written anything, and it isn't because we haven't had anything going on. Quite the contrary actually, because this fall kept us very busy. Now I'm trying to back track to record all the fun memories.
Fall has always been one of my favorite times of year. The weather starts cooling off, or at least we anticipate the return of cooler weather. There are fun fall activities, like the fair. We of course headed out to the fair to enjoy the rides, animals, and fried food! The kids loved it, even Owen. His favorite part were the animals of course. He loves animals, especially dogs. We keep saying we need to get this kid a dog, but we still aren't quite ready to pull the trigger. The fact that we're talking about it though is a huge step forward.

Soccer time!
Mady is playing soccer this year and is the future US women's soccer team star player! Well, that might be stretching it a bit, or a lot, but you never know! Can I just say, little girls all decked out in their soccer uniforms is so cute! She does seem to enjoy playing, just not in the heat. Her only complaint right now is how hot it is, so I'm hoping when it gets a little cooler she'll enjoy it more. So you know, that last game in November should be fine!
And the first game:
Here was the first practice:

And they're off!
Their tongues! So funny.
And this is the point where I started losing her to the heat.
But who can blame her? We were all sweating like pigs out there!

Another week in the books!
We are finishing up our third week of school, and starting to hit a stride. Mady loves school, not a surprise, and has adjusted to going five days a week with no problem. Owen on the other hand is not a fan of MDO. He still cries every time he is dropped off, but his teachers say he is doing better during the day. Sweet boy, he is such a mama's boy. Or I should say mummy's boy, since that is what he calls me now. Apparently we have a little english child, because he says it with an english accent. He's so fancy. It will get better, at least that's what everyone tells me. And I know from experience from my sweet girl, who is no longer a baby by looking at this picture below. Ugh, time flies so fast. We have to remember to enjoy every minute.
As for me, classes are going really well. It feels so good to be back in the classroom. The first test is next week, so I'm keeping busy, and we'll find out soon how well these guys are actually paying attention to me talking. It's always a little nerve racking to see the grades when they come in.
It's funny how the anticipation for new beginnings can make you so nervous and anxious, and then when it comes and you're in the middle of it, you realize it really isn't that scary. It feels like this has been our normal for more than three weeks now. So now comes my favorite time of year. Time to enjoy football, pumpkin flavored everything, and cooler weather!

Goodbye Summer 2015
I had a bit of a breakdown Thursday when Mady started Pre-K. I cannot believe my little baby girl is now in Pre-K and is going to school everyday this year. It's only the mornings, besides one day a week, but it's still everyday. I think during one of my moments I cried "But she'll never be home on Tuesday and Thursday mornings again!" Because Christmas break, Spring break, and summer don't count, right? Now on Monday, I start working, and Owen will go to MDO. My sweet boy is starting school, and I know there will be tears, from both of us. Poor Nick, having to deal with this irrational, emotional, dramatic woman!!
